ENHANCED DISCLOSURES

The process of our coaches going through Disclosure Scotland is now well under way, with clubs requesting In-House meetings with Additional Signatories to get them through the process, Hunterfield and  Hillfield Swifts being the first.

As an Additional Signatory I am happy to attend such meetings to aid in the signing-off of club officials.

As a guide, this is the process :

  1. ALL Club Officials who have contact with children MUST be checked.

  2. A Self Disclosure form MUST be completed first. ( This can be done at the same time as the Enhanced Disclosure ).

  3. Enhanced Disclosure follows, either as a club / age group or at one of the Associations planned meetings.

  4. At present it is taking approx 3 weeks for the forms to be processed by Disclosure Scotland.

  5. It is FREE of charge.

  6. All teams MUST be registered with the SYFA before any Disclosures can be carried out.

To have your Enhanced Disclosure done ALL  Club Officials MUST HAVE with them the following:

  • Passport

  • Birth Certificate

  • Driving Licence ( if you have one )

  • National Insurance Number

  • Proof of home address, i.e. Household bill

  • Previous address history for a 10 year period

  • Copy of any previous disclosure

  • If neither passport or driving licence is available, then other photographic evidence is required.

These must have documents are a  minimum requirement of   SYFA / Disclosure Scotland, and not the Association.

If you have a Disclosure form PLEASE DO NOT fill it out prior to any meeting. There are a lot of mistakes being made, and a new form has to be issued. It is better to all do it together.

Should any : Team / Age Group / Club, require Disclosure please contact the General Secretary or any other Additional Signatory, and we will be happy to help.

Failure to go through this process may result in you not being able to :

  • Have contact with your players.

  • Secure lets for pitches.

  • Be accepted into this Association.

  • Not allowed to attend Coach Ed courses etc.

As an Association affiliated to the SYFA we are duty bound to follow this procedure, and as responsible adults we must ensure that all of our players are offered the level of protection they deserve.
