A message from the SYFA Chairperson -

Dear Member Club,

The Scottish Youth FA has contacted the Scottish FA to initiate a discussion on the Player Journey (formerly known as the Player Pathway).

We aim to collaborate with the SFA to review the Player Journey, examining current practices and rules for the Fun Fours, Super Fives, 7-a-side, and 9-a-side formats.

To that end, the SYFA would welcome any feedback and suggestions from your member coaches, and we kindly ask them to share their views and comments with us by emailing:

syfa.board@scottish-football.com

We plan to form a Working Group to develop suggestions for improving the Journey, and we invite anyone interested in joining the Group to email us.

We would also like to take this opportunity to remind all our member clubs of the Player Journey, which can be found here:

www.scottishfa.co.uk/football-development/participation/childrens-youth-football/player-journey/

Deviating from SYFA rules by teams, age groups, or clubs constitutes a breach of SYFA Rules. We remind all involved in the Small-Sided Game that the Club could face a fine of up to £500, and a coach can be expelled from SYFA membership.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

Feedback is due by 11th January 2026
